How Koleoso’s 141.6 Million YouTube Views Reveal the Power of a Returning Yoruba Community

How Koleoso’s 141.6 Million YouTube Views Reveal the Power of a Returning Yoruba Community

Koleoso’s 141.6 million combined YouTube views show how a loyal Yoruba-language Community sustained Ibrahim Yekini’s supernatural saga across 13 parts.

Koleoso has delivered more than a headline-grabbing YouTube milestone. Ibrahim Yekini, popularly known as Itele d’Icon, announced on September 8, 2026, that the Yoruba-language production had accumulated 141.6 million combined views across Parts 1–13.

That figure represents views across 13 separate uploads, not unique viewers or a single video’s performance. For Nollywood filmmakers and producers, the more revealing trend is how consistently audiences returned as the supernatural family saga expanded.

Every Koleoso installment found a multimillion-view audience

According to Yekini’s published breakdown, Part 1 had reached 9.8 million views, followed by 9.9 million for Part 2 and 8.9 million for Part 3. Parts 4 and 5 recorded 10 million each, while Parts 6, 7 and 8 reached 12 million apiece.

The audience grew further with Part 9 at 13 million and Part 10 leading the series at 16 million. Parts 11, 12 and 13 stood at 9.9 million, 9.4 million and 8.7 million respectively.

The relatively narrow range between the lowest and highest totals matters. Instead of relying on one viral installment to inflate the overall figure, Koleoso generated substantial demand throughout its run. Even the lowest total in Yekini’s September snapshot was 8.7 million views.

A long rollout built around repeat interest

Koleoso launched on the Itelediconstudio YouTube channel in May 2025, with Part 13 arriving on June 26, 2026. Sustaining attention across that rollout required viewers to remain invested in its continuing mix of Yoruba culture, supernatural forces and family conflict.

The cast includes Yekini, Oluwakemi Apesin, Saliu Gbolagade, Akinfolarin Olamide, Fatai Odua, Afeez Abiodun and Yetunde Barnabas. Their recurring presence gave the audience familiar characters to follow as the conflict developed from one part to the next.

Why Community matters more than a record claim

Reports described Koleoso as YouTube’s most-viewed African film title, but that claim comes from Yekini’s announcement and should be understood as attributed rather than an independently audited platform record.

The stronger lesson is the value of Community ownership. In a February 2026 interview, Yekini identified connecting with viewers and learning from audience criticism as important to his filmmaking decisions. That feedback relationship offers context for why the series could keep audiences engaged beyond its opening release.

For Nollywood’s growing YouTube economy, Koleoso demonstrates that local-language storytelling can support sustained, large-scale viewing when creators give audiences a reason to return. Its 141.6 million combined views are impressive, but the consistency across all 13 parts may be the more useful achievement.
