John Swab’s next crime thriller is taking shape as a major ensemble production. Copperhead, led by Miles Teller, is scheduled to begin filming in Oklahoma in September 2026 with Jason Momoa, Tenoch Huerta, Adria Arjona and Kiefer Sutherland also attached.

What is Copperhead about?

The Oklahoma Film + Music Office lists Copperhead as a Black Label Media feature scheduled to film from September 14 through November 6, 2026. As with other advance production listings, the office notes that schedules may change.
Black Label Media is financing and producing the film with Teller’s Lime Tree Productions and Swab’s Milk Boy. Black Bear is introducing the project to buyers at the inaugural TIFF: The Market, scheduled for September 10–16, 2026, while CAA Media Finance and WME Independent are handling domestic rights.
That timing places the sales campaign immediately before the planned Oklahoma shoot, creating an important early test of buyer interest in the cast-driven crime thriller.
