Rita Dominic: The Regal Journey of a Nollywood Icon

Rita Dominic, a distinguished member of the Royal Nwaturuocha family from Aboh Mbaise local government area in Imo State, Nigeria, was born into a middle-class household in the mid-70s. Her father, a medical doctor, and her mother, a nurse, provided a nurturing environment for the budding talent that would soon take the Nollywood industry by storm.
In 1998, Rita Dominic took a decisive step towards her destiny by joining the Actors Guild of Nigeria and auditioning for her debut role in the movie "Children of Terror." This marked the commencement of a remarkable career that would span over two decades and leave an indelible mark on the Nigerian film landscape.
The breakthrough for Rita came in 2004 when she secured the supporting lead role in the movie "Blood Diamond." This marked a turning point in her career as she garnered widespread acclaim for her exceptional performance. From that moment on, Rita Dominic became a household name in the Nigerian film industry.
Over the years, Rita has become a prolific actress, gracing the screens in over 100 Nollywood movies. Her versatility and ability to portray diverse characters have solidified her status as one of the industry's leading figures. Not content with just acting, Rita Dominic has also ventured into movie production, bringing to life three films under her own production(Rita Dominic Productions).
"77" (Post-production movie): Rita Dominic is to star alongside Ramsey Nouah in the sequel of the renowned movie "76", and the new movie "77", is scheduled to hit the big screen before the end of 2024.
In addition to her contributions to Nollywood, Rita Dominic has had the privilege of sharing the screen with renowned Nollywood icons such as Olu Jacobs and Zack Orji. Her collaborations with these stalwarts have enriched the cinematic landscape and elevated her standing in the industry.
Beyond her artistic pursuits, Rita Dominic has transcended the borders of Nollywood to become a global ambassador. Recently appointed by Afrexim Bank as an IATF Goodwill Ambassador, she continues to use her influence to promote African cinema and culture on an international stage. Rita has also been a prominent face for several global brands in Nigeria, cementing her position as a multifaceted personality.
