The seventh annual American Black Film Festival (ABFF) Honors is set to be an unforgettable evening celebrating Black excellence in film, television, and beyond. This year, the prestigious event takes a heartfelt turn, dedicating a special tribute to the resilient community of Altadena in light of the recent wildfires that affected Los Angeles. With an unwavering spirit of strength, solidarity, and cultural pride, Altadena's rich history and contributions to Black culture will take center stage alongside the industry's biggest stars.

A Star-Studded Celebration of Black Excellence

ABFF Honors, presented by Nice Crowd, will pay tribute to some of the most influential figures in entertainment and culture on February 17 at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills. Hosted by the charismatic Zainab Johnson, this intimate, non-televised event promises an evening of celebration, inspiration, and reflection.

This year's distinguished honorees include:

- Keke Palmer – Recipient of the Renaissance Award for her dynamic impact as a content creator championing diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Emmy-winning actress and multi-talented powerhouse recently starred alongside SZA in One of Them Days and launched her memoir, Master of Me.

- Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor and Giancarlo Esposito – Honored with the Excellence in the Arts Award for their groundbreaking contributions to film and television. Ellis-Taylor continues to captivate audiences with her performances, including Nickel Boys, while Esposito, famed for Breaking Bad, gears up for exciting projects like Captain America: Brave New World and The Electric State.

- Marla Gibbs – The legendary actress will receive the Hollywood Legacy Award for her decades-long influence in the industry, from The Jeffersons and 227 to her significant contributions to jazz and theater.

- Aaron Pierre – Named this year’s Rising Star, Pierre’s career trajectory continues to soar with standout performances in Rebel Ridge, The Underground Railroad, and The Lion King prequel, where he voices Mufasa.
