David Oyelowo Champions African Cinema While Taking on Shakespeare's Coriolanus

David Oyelowo, renowned for his roles in "Selma" and "Lawmen: Bass Reeves", has revealed his desire to amplify Africa’s movie industry. Speaking to "Deadline", Oyelowo emphasized his commitment to creating films on the continent, ensuring these projects
benefit people on the ground.
He dismissed fears of “cultural colonialism,” stressing that the initiative would empower local talents. Oyelowo is currently starring in "Coriolanus" at London’s National Theatre, portraying the titular Roman hero. Directed by Lyndsey Turner, the production officially opens on September 24.
