Nollywood News: Itele d’Icon’s Koleoso Reaches 141.6 Million Combined YouTube Views

Nollywood News: Itele d’Icon’s Koleoso Reaches 141.6 Million Combined YouTube Views

Itele d’Icon’s Yoruba supernatural series Koleoso has reached 141.6 million combined YouTube views, with seven instalments above 10 million.

Ibrahim Yekini, popularly known as Itele d’Icon, has announced a major YouTube milestone for his Yoruba supernatural series Koleoso. Across 13 instalments, the fantasy and family drama has accumulated 141.6 million combined views, underlining the sustained audience demand surrounding the title.

The figure, announced by Yekini on September 8, 2026, represents the cumulative performance of 13 separate uploads on the official Itelediconstudio YouTube channel. It is not the view count for a single film or video.

Seven Koleoso instalments have crossed 10 million views

The series’ individual numbers make the overall milestone especially notable. According to the breakdown reported by Voice of Nigeria, Parts 4 and 5 had reached 10 million views each, while Parts 6, 7 and 8 were at approximately 12 million apiece.

Part 9 had attracted 13 million views, while Part 10 led the series with approximately 16 million. That gives Koleoso seven consecutive instalments—from Part 4 through Part 10—with at least 10 million views each.

Yekini and several reporting outlets have described Koleoso as YouTube’s most-watched African film title. That claim is based on the combined audience across the series’ multiple uploads rather than one standalone video.

From 100 million to 141.6 million views

The latest announcement extends an earlier landmark reported in January 2026, when Koleoso passed 100 million cumulative views. By September, the total had increased by more than 40 million.

The channel’s audience also appeared to remain active after the initial surge. As of September 9, it was reportedly tracking approximately 3.6 million additional views over the preceding 28 days.

The first instalment premiered on May 8, 2025, and Part 13 arrived on June 26, 2026. Reported principal and recurring cast members include Yekini, Oluwakemi Apesin, Saliu Gbolagade, Akinfolarin Olamide, Fatai Odua, Afeez Abiodun and Yetunde Barnabas.

Why Koleoso’s YouTube performance matters

For filmmakers and producers following Nollywood News, Koleoso offers a striking example of how an episodic local-language production can build a large audience through direct digital distribution. Its repeated 10-million-view performances suggest viewers were not simply drawn to one viral upload; they continued following the story across successive releases.

The 141.6-million total also demonstrates the discovery potential available to Yoruba-language entertainment on a global platform. For Nollywood viewers at home and across the diaspora, Koleoso has become a significant case study in how recurring characters, serial storytelling and YouTube access can sustain attention over time.
