TRENDING: Nigerian Government Sentence First African Transgender Bobrisky To Prison

In a surprising turn of events, Nigerian social media sensation and first African transgender personality, Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye, famously known as Bobrisky, confessed to being male before being handed a six-month federal prison sentence.

Reported by DAILY POST, Bobrisky's admission came during his sentencing at the Federal High Court in Lagos, where he faced charges of abusing the Nigerian currency, the Naira, and identifying as transgender. When asked about his sex by the judge, Bobrisky promptly responded, "I am a man."
The sentencing, delivered by Justice Abimbola Awogboro, highlighted the seriousness of currency abuse and aimed to deter others from similar acts. Bobrisky was remanded to serve his jail term at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre, with the sentence set to commence from March 24, 2024, the day of his arrest.

This development follows Bobrisky's conviction on April 5 after pleading guilty to four counts of Naira abuse brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The charges included incidents where Bobrisky was accused of tampering with sums of Naira at various locations between 2022 and 2023.
