Senegal made history yesterday as 44-year-old Bassirou Diomaye Faye took the oath of office, becoming not only the youngest president in the nation's history but also the youngest on the entire African continent.
In a stunning electoral victory, Faye secured over 54% of the votes, defeating his main rival and the ruling party candidate, Amadou Ba, despite having just ten days to campaign.
